Carl Jung argues that there are four basic psychological functions every individual uses to experience the world: Thinking, Feeling, Sensing, and Intuition. These functions operate as either introverted or extroverted, depending on the direction of energy. Together, these eight cognitive functions form the building blocks of our personality and our “archetypal” tendencies.
